‘On an Ebbelwoi with Omid Nouripour’: Green MKK and Hanau invite you to exchange ideas in Hanau

On Wednesday, the Greens invited MKK and Hanau to a cozy evening in the Kanne Ebbelwoi in Hanau. Under the motto ‘To an Ebbelwoi with Omid Nouripour’, visitors had the opportunity to exchange views with the Co-Chairman of the Greens and the direct candidates of the Green MKK, Robert Erkan (district 41) and Günther Koch (district 42), over a glass of cider and hand cheese.
Before Omid Nouripour gave an insight into federal politics, the direct candidates presented themselves with their priorities.
Günther Koch, direct candidate of the Green MKK for constituency 42, is committed to creating good living conditions for all children, young people and families in Hesse – in all places and regardless of their origin. “This includes promoting inclusion and enabling integration and participation. The further expansion of day care for children remains a major challenge that can only be mastered with strong support from the federal and state governments. For this, the skilled workers offensive is still necessary in Hesse. The expansion of child and youth welfare in Hesse requires a strong centre at state level where planning, research and practical knowledge come together in order to be able to offer regionally tailored solutions for children, adolescents and families," says Koch.
Robert Erkan, direct candidate for constituency 41, stands for a Hessian anti-discrimination law, equal opportunities, democracy and socially acceptable climate protection. “I'm not just concerned with content, I want people's concerns to be taken seriously. This is the only way we can meet the challenges we face.
Effectively address and bring about change. “Keeping good, designing new things, fair and together” – that is my approach”, says Erkan.
Omid Nouripour gave an exciting insight into the current political situation in Berlin and also addressed the current survey results on the state elections in Hesse. "In the light of the current attacks on democracy, the Greens invite you to join forces with the democratic parties. Democracy is sometimes very challenging. To defend them, we have to do complicated things. We all need to trust in the strengths of democracy. Hatred and hate speech are just volume.”
“I have one request: Go vote and choose a democratic party. We take our right to vote for granted. Our freedoms and fundamental rights are worthy of protection and we must stand up for them. This is how we will make the country crisis-proof," said the Co-Federal Chairman.
“We are very pleased that Omid Nouripour accepted our invitation and met us in Hanau. It was a great opportunity to get to know him not only as a politician, but also as a human being", said Ahmet Cetiner, spokesperson for the Green MKK.
The Kanne Ebbelwoi, a modern beer garden with urban gardening area in Hanau, provided the perfect setting for the meeting. With a cosy ambience and regional specialities, the guests could talk to each other on a nice late summer evening.
“It was important to us to create a casual platform where people could engage with Omid Nouripour and address their concerns directly. The evening was a great success and demonstrated the importance of personal dialogue between politicians and citizens", stressed Mareike Forchheim, spokeswoman for the Hanau Green Party.
The Greens MKK and Hanau would like to thank Omid Nouripour for his participation and all guests for their interest and active participation in the evening. The evening lived from a lively discussion and allowed visitors to exchange views on local topics and concerns.
