Current hour: Landlord still owes answers

Thorsten Stolz's argument is incomprehensible

"The district councillor owes the people the answers," says Reiner Bousonville, leader of the Greens parliamentary group. With a current hour in the district council last Friday, the group wanted to have answered questions about the planned new building of the Kreissparkasse Gelnhausen on the Joh area by the district council: "Instead, despite a lengthy statement, Thorsten Stolz only shoved the responsibility away and did not make any concrete statements," Bousonville said. The behaviour in the Grand Coalition is also ‘surprising if individual CDU members are not allowed to speak on this issue’.

How much did the Main-Kinzig-Kreis incur? What motives have really led to the withdrawal of the Kreissparkasse? And was the district councilor aware of the press release of the Kreissparkasse in advance? ‘We have not received any answers to all these questions in the current hour’, Bousonville is dismayed. Instead, the responsibility was shifted back to the Gelnhäuser responsible: ‘The fact that the development plan, which was specially tailored to the savings bank, had already been adopted last week in Gelnhausen was deliberately forgotten.’

Landrat Thorsten Stolz emphasized that the new building would have been a worthwhile business for the Sparkasse: “At the same time, he speaks of an entrepreneurial decision by the Savings Bank Board to end the project. An entrepreneurial decision cannot be to end a worthwhile business because individual members of the Gelnhäuser Building Committee have asked questions about the construction project. “There must be more background here.”

At the same time, the question was not answered whether Landrat Thorsten Stolz had been proud of the content of the press release of savings bank chairman Horst Wanik at the end of the construction project, in which the Kreissparkasse had attacked volunteer politicians in a generalised manner: “We agree with the FDP: On the basis of this press release and the damage to the company’s image caused by the behaviour of the savings bank, there must be personnel consequences, either for the savings bank’s board of directors or for the chairman of the board of directors.’ The fact that the press release was not a clever idea now seems to have arrived at the savings bank: ‘The notice has been removed from the website and can no longer be found there.’

The Hessian municipal order actually stipulates that a member of parliament is only obliged to his conscience: “This free exercise of the mandate does not seem to have arrived at the CDU yet. When the Gelnhäuser CDU city councillor Volker Rode wanted to clarify the facts after the attacks by the district councillor against political leaders, a member of the parliamentary group was sent by the chairman of the parliamentary group to ban Rode from speaking." This clearly shows that here the SPD and CDU parliamentary group leaders are trying to suppress unpleasant opinions together with the district councillor: “The decisions of the Grand Coalition for the benefit of the district and the city are not made in a team, but on the basis of individual interests of the CDU. It was also the CDU that stopped further planning on the Joh site on the part of the circle against the will of the SPD. This says a lot about the state of the Grand Coalition," Bousonville concluded.
