Amendment to the budget: More positions in the Veterinary Office

The district council shall decide:           

1.       The establishment plan of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis includes 2.0 additional posts in the Veterinary Office.

2.       The two additional posts will be classified as Animal Health Supervisors (TGAs).

Explanatory memorandum:

According to the feedback from the Darmstadt FP of 08.03.2021, the area is currently at a level of compliance of 31.84 with the predetermined target of plan controls. %. The Control Regulation (EU 2017/625), which entered into force on 14 December 2019, gives rise to further control requirements, which further amplify the deficit while maintaining the same level of staff.

The control figures for 2020 should take into account that since 2020 one TGA post has been vacant due to parental leave or long-term illness and a veterinarian has been sent to the training course for three months. According to current estimates, full staffing in this product will not be attainable until the end of 2022 at the earliest (renewal/renewal of the position of the long-term sick colleague, replacement of a colleague’s planned parental leave), so that the control figures are expected to show a slightly increasing trend compared to the control figures in 2020.

The increase in the number of posts in the TGA sector is intended to further increase the level of compliance.
