The last state election made it clear: Political landscapes are changing and the Green MKK is also facing challenges that we want to tackle critically but optimistically.
At the beginning, we owe our thanks to the tireless fighters of our party: Robert Erkan, Anja Zeller and Günther Koch – our candidates who have championed green values and visions with strong ideas and great personal commitment. Their work forms a solid foundation on which we will continue to build. We would also like to thank our members and supporters who have made a significant contribution to the local election campaign.
“We are proud of the dedicated campaign of our candidates and grassroots. We are very grateful for the trust placed in us. Even if the result does not meet our expectations, we are looking ahead with motivation and confidence", emphasises Ahmet Cetiner, spokesman for BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN Kreisverband Main-Kinzig.
In the coming weeks, we will engage in intensive discussions with the results and determine strategies for our future party work. Because in a time of reflection, it is important to recognize both the challenges and the opportunities that are offered to us. In particular, the changed political mood in the country and an unmissable desire for new impulses in the population require forward-looking and dynamic party work.
Green MKK spokeswoman Emily Benatzky said: “The clear gains of the AfD, especially in the Main-Kinzig district and especially in constituency 42, are a wake-up call for us. We will now work even more intensively for the solidarity of all democratic parties, because we must now stand together and together make a clear signal against the right. We are also encouraged to continue our commitment to an inclusive, environmental and social future with even more vehemence and clarity”.
We see an essential aspect for future success in the greater mobilization and activation of our membership base, especially the young generation, which can enrich our party work with fresh ideas and perspectives. The wealth of experience of the older generation should not be forgotten, but enter into a lively dialogue with the new voices of the party.
Looking to the future, we rely on cooperation, renewal and constructive inner-party dialogue in order to continue to carry green policy effectively and purposefully into society.
