Elections at the Green Main-Kinzig / Strengthening the Eastern Circle important
Under the motto ‘Together for a green future in the MKK’, numerous members gathered in the Klosterberghalle in Langenselbold to elect a new district executive of the Green Main-Kinzig. In the end, only the district treasurer was confirmed, all other positions were reassigned.
Ahmet Cetiner welcomed the Green members and drew in his speech a conclusion of the last state elections. "We are facing major challenges and need to move even further together in the future," said Cetiner, also in view of the AfD's strong results.
Subsequently, Joachim Nickel was confirmed by the local association Hanau as district treasurer. On the other hand, Thomas Gassen, who was subsequently elected, is new to the district board. The Großkrotzenburger is largely responsible for the new foundation of the local association there. The Hanauerin Anja Zeller, who had competed in the last state election for constituency 40, is also new.
Beate Boege-Sonnek and Philip Schinkel are represented on the district board with two people from the Bad Orb local association: "We want to send a clear signal that we want to further strengthen the Eastern Circle, also with regard to the AfD's worrying election results," the Greens said in a press release.
In addition to Joachim Nickel, only the co-opted members Jakob Mähler remain on the board as chairman of the parliamentary group of the district parliamentary group and the spokespersons of the Green Youth Main-Kinzig, Emily Benatzky and Tim Koczkowiak, who share the office.
The district board receives support in their work from the two district managing directors Mareike Jäger and Matthias Dorka.
"We are looking forward to the new tasks and to working together", the members of the Management Board said. "At the same time, we would like to thank those who have worked on the district board in the past parliamentary term and have had a significant influence on the Greens in the Main-Kinzig district. We would therefore like to thank Ahmet Cetiner, Viola Haßdenteufel, Sandra Gerbert, Knut Kiesel and Reiner Bousonville.”
