High visit to the Main-Kinzig district \u2013 the Hessian Minister of Science and Art, Angela Dorn, visited the cities of Bad Orb and Hanau last Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the spa town, her visit was marked by the preservation of monuments, which first led her to the graduation plant. Members of the \u2018Freunde des Bad Orber Gradierwerks\u2019 association guided them through the building and exchanged views on their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are pleased that we were able to give the Minister both a monument with a future and an insight into the important work of the volunteer citizens. Because without these extremely important honorary posts, the city would be poorer by many attractions,\" said Beate Boege-Sonnek from the board of the Greens in Bad Orb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After registering in the city's Golden Book, the green minister learned more about the current plans of the Bad Orb Opera Academy. After two years of break due to the pandemic, a classic musical \u2018Anatevka\u2019 can be found on the schedule for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next stop of her visit was the Old St. John's Church in Hanau \u2013 the Ajoki. The operator Elias Kolbe guided Minister Dorn through the socio-cultural centre. She was particularly interested in the situation of the centre in post-Covid times and inquired how funding can support cultural institutions in a targeted and effective way. During the discussion, it became very clear that institutional support, which is sustainable, is essential for the establishment and operation of socio-cultural centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSocio-culture is very close to my heart as Minister for Science and the Arts. In the two legislative periods in which we co-govern the Greens, we have increased support for socio-culture by about five. We do this for a very special reason: Culture is for everyone. The AJOKI is an exemplary project, because it shows how socio-culture, gastronomy, educational initiatives and social initiatives work together and create a real meeting center. And here even in the rooms and with the cooperation partner of the evangelical church. I am sure that the project will receive a lot of attention outside Hanau as well\u201d, said Minister Angela Dorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the importance of structural support for cultural institutions. In Hanau, the Ajoki has succeeded in creating a place that brings culture back to urban space. We are pleased that Angela, like us, continues to listen to the needs of this industry,\" said Knut Kiesel from the Green MKK Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
