Campaign highlight of the GREEN Main-Kinzig and Hanau: Panel discussion "Protecting women – acting locally, thinking globally"

On the occasion of the upcoming International Women's Day, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis and Hanau invite you to a public campaign highlight with a panel discussion. The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Marstall in Hanau-Steinheim.

Under the title ‘Protecting women – acting locally, thinking globally’, the event highlights the concrete steps that municipalities can take to better protect women structurally from violence and discrimination. Experience from local practice as well as perspectives from other countries will be presented. The event is aimed at all people who are committed to equality and want to actively participate in shaping it. Feel free to bring in your own experiences, questions or suggestions to discuss together how the Main-Kinzig-Kreis can become safer and fairer.

On the podium will be represented:

  • Omid Nouripour, Member of Parliament
  • Mahwish Iftikhar, spokeswoman for diversity policy of the Green Hesse and lead candidate for the district election
  • Sascha Feldes, mayoral candidate for Hanau
  • Experts of the Frauenhaus Wächtersbach

“With this event, we want to create a platform where women can be heard directly and play an active role. Acting locally and thinking globally starts with each and every one of us", says Mahwish Iftikhar.

The GREEN Main-Kinzig and Hanau invite all citizens to participate in the discussion, to ask questions and to contribute their own ideas. Drinks and small snacks are provided. Registration is requested by e-mail to kv@gruene-mkk.de.
