Ferhat, Hamza, Said Nesar, Vili, Mercedes, Kaloyan, Fatih, Sedat and Gökhan. Now it is almost two years since they were murdered on 19 February 2019 in one of the worst right-wing extremist attacks in the Federal Republic of Germany. Two years, but the night of Hanau is still going on.
It is also part of the dignified memory to fight for a world without racism, because racism kills every day and all over the world. Many questions are still open to relatives, survivors and those affected.
Experiences with racism are not isolated cases and the attack in Hanau must not happen again, nowhere! Therefore, the Kreisverband der Grünen Main-Kinzig, the Kreistag fraction, the Grüne Jugend Main-Kinzig and the Hanauer Ortsverband invite you to an online event on 19 February 2022 at 8 pm. Together with our guests, Marcus Bocklet (Member of Parliament), Robert Erkan (City Councillor / Green Group Hanau), Vanessa Gronemann (MdL and Chairwoman of the Committee of Inquiry on 19.2.) Sarah-Lee Heinrich (Federal Spokeswoman of the Green Youth of Hesse), Lara Klaes (Spokeswoman of the Green Youth of Hesse), we want to take a look at the two years after the assassination and discuss the questions: In addition to the investigations, what has changed in Germany in the last two years with regard to racism? What were the political consequences? What has happened to the issue of disarming racists and combating structural racism and to what extent is this problem now perceived and dealt with in German society?
We are looking forward to a lot of participation!
