What you can do:

  1. Demo mobilization: Many of you are already working to mobilize as many people as possible to the peace rallies that take place nationwide. It is important that we also send a clear signal on the streets for solidarity with the people of Ukraine and for peace. https://www.gruene.de/artikel/volle-solidaritaet-mit-der-ukraine
  2. Call for donations for emergency humanitarian aid: Together with the Ukrainian partner organisation Vostok SOS, Libereco has launched an extensive relief operation for Ukraine. It is about meeting the most urgent needs of the people in the immediate danger zone. Provide them with medicines and dressings, help them evacuate and find temporary shelter. The work of the teams on the ground, the mobilisation of volunteers and the operational humanitarian, medical, psychological and legal work costs money. Therefore: Donate now! Alternatively you can here for one-off payments or here for repeated payments Donate.

Here you can provide accommodation for refugees and refugees can find it: https://www.unterkunft-ukraine.de/

3. Clarifying capacities for refugees on the ground: The war in Ukraine brings suffering to many families, we do not want to foment a refugee debate. However, we should be prepared to accept people in Germany if they have to flee the war, so that they can quickly get safe accommodation here after suffering. You can ask your municipalities and cities or if you are responsible, clarify how the capacities for the reception of refugees are with you on the ground and that appropriate preparations are made.

4. Keep an eye on Russian disinformation campaigns: It is well known that the Russian state is also trying to influence the opinion on the media and social networks. Be sure to source and disseminate information from reputable sources, clearly oppose disinformation and raise awareness among your members. The EU has a task force to gather information on current Russian disinformation campaigns: https://euvsdisinfo.eu/de/category/ukraine-page-de/
