With a lot of energy and fresh wind in the next two years

The Kreisverband Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Main-Kinzig elects a new board of directors at a general meeting in Langenselbold.

"There have been two eventful years with important election campaigns behind us in which the number of members of the Green Party in the Main-Kinzig district has risen sharply," said Günther Koch, the former spokesperson for the board, in his review of the work of the board at a meeting of the Green Party in Main-Kinzig in the Klosterberghalle in Langenselbold. "Through constructive board work, we have collectively mastered the associated challenges and exploited opportunities for the development of the district association," says Koch.

Despite difficult conditions during the corona pandemic, various district member events could take place in person and online with various guests from the federal and state parliamentary groups of the Greens. And the self-imposed goal of the board of directors in recent years to be more strongly represented in the eastern Main-Kinzig district has also come a little closer with three newly founded local associations in Wächtersbach, Biebergemünd and Bad Orb.

Günther Koch, Gülümser Tanta-Yalcin and Achim Kreis from the previous board did not run for election again. For her, Maria Heider from Bad Orb, Knut Kiesel and Ahmet Cetiner, both from Maintal, were newly elected to the board. Joachim Nickel (Hanau) was confirmed as district treasurer. Viola Haßdenteufel (Nidderau) and Sandra Gerbert (Hammersbach) also once again received the trust of the members for their work on the Executive Board over the next two years. In addition to the elected members, Reiner Bousonville as chairman of the district parliamentary group and Jakob Mähler from the board of the Green Youth Main-Kinzig sit on the district board.

"We would like to thank Günther Koch, Gülümser Tanta-Yalcin and Achim Kreis for their commitment and the great cooperation", said Viola Haßdenteufel. "And we look forward to a good cooperation in the newly elected board, which will certainly give rise to many ideas on how we will position the Green Main-Kinzig well in the future for work in the district, the individual municipalities and for upcoming election campaigns."

The new district board met in close proximity to the district members' meeting for its first meeting. In the coming weeks, he will, among other things, appoint a spokeswoman and a speaker and set his goals for the coming years during a retreat. The expansion of the district association in the eastern Main-Kinzig district as well as membership acquisition and networking will continue to play an important role in the coming years.
