The preliminary trend results of the local elections on 15 March 2026 show that Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in the Main-Kinzig district emerge from the election with a solid result. Particularly gratifying is the performance of the newly founded local associations in Brachttal and Jossgrund last year.
Both local associations took part in a municipal election for the first time and were able to achieve a considerable result from their standpoint. This underscores the growing interest in green policies in rural areas as well as the successful development work of committed local members.
"The fact that our new local associations in Brachttal and Jossgrund were able to achieve such a good result directly at their first election is a strong signal," explains Philip Schinkel, spokesperson for GRÜNEN Main-Kinzig. “Many citizens want policies that combine climate action, quality of life and sustainable development, even in smaller communities.”
"We sincerely thank all voters for their trust", says Mahwish Iftikhar, leader of the Greens in the Main-Kinzig district. "The result is an incentive for us to continue to work hard for consistent climate protection, livable communities and sustainable development in the Main-Kinzig district. Our goal remains a policy that assumes environmental responsibility while ensuring fair opportunities, participation and good living conditions for all people in the Main-Kinzig district.”
The final official results of the enumeration are still pending. Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Main-Kinzig will carefully evaluate these and, together with the newly elected elected representatives, prepare the next steps for the local political work of the coming years.
