The village centres in Hesse are to be strengthened and receive support from the village development programme. The state government has therefore included twelve other Hessian municipalities in the programme. A total of 109 Hessian cities and municipalities are now being supported with around 35 million euros in the preservation and revival of their village cores. The municipality of Brachttal in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis is now also one of the supported municipalities.
“Whether access to healthcare and food, childcare, mobility or a vibrant village community, many rural communities face particular challenges in all these areas. With the funds available through the funding programme, important projects and investments can be implemented in the future. I am pleased that the municipality of Brachttal is now also benefiting from the funds from village development,” said Markus Hofmann of BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN, Member of Parliament responsible for the Main-Kinzig district.
The basis for projects in rural areas is the action plan "Strong Land – Good Life" of the Hessian state government. In nine fields of action, all areas of public services are dealt with, with the aim of creating equal living conditions in the city and in the countryside. This year alone, 1.2 billion euros of national funds are available for this purpose.
