Representatives of the local associations and parliamentary groups of the Greens in the Main-Kinzig district exchanged views online with Martina Feldmayer, spokesperson for environmental and climate protection of the Green Parliamentary Group, on the protection of forests in Hesse on 12 April 2022.
During their participation in the government, the Greens of Hesse have achieved much for the protection of the Hessian forests, such as the target proportion of natural forests to 10.% to increase, to have Hessian forests FSC certified and to protect Bannwald more strongly.
In order to achieve the objectives at Land level, the protection of forests must also be promoted at municipal level. The members of the state parliament gave useful tips and arguments with which our local politicians can submit applications for forest protection.
