Green candidate Mahwish Iftikhar will run for 7th place on the country list
"I am pleased about the strong unanimous vote at the district members’ assembly", says Mahwish Iftikhar, direct candidate of the Greens for constituency 179, Hanau, which includes all municipalities from Maintal to Hasselroth. The Nidderauer social politician starts early in the Bundestag election campaign: ‘I am a courageous fighter for social issues and want to make my contribution to a more social and just Germany.’ That is why Iftikhar will also be running on the Green Hesse Land List: ‘I will run for 7th place in the Land Party Congress and hope that the party will give its consent to become part of the new Bundestag.’
Iftikhar has received funding and support from the START Foundation, the Hans Böckler Foundation and the Deutschlandstiftung, is a spokeswoman for diversity policy for the State Board of the Green Youth of Hesse and a co-opted member of the State Board of the Green Hesse. In addition, she is a member of the parliamentary group of the Greens Main-Kinzig and is active in various committees: “I came to Germany in my sixth year of life and learned to appreciate and love this country and all its opportunities and possibilities. At the same time, I see the social challenges, including in the area of integration and migration. Here, realistic and goal-oriented approaches and answers to hate speech and hatred from the right are needed. I stand up for this and hope for a positive vote from the National Assembly.”
