At the largest Hessian party congress to date, which took place last weekend in Wetzlar, the three direct candidates of the MKK were elected by the Hessian GREENS to the state list for the state elections on 8 October 2023. Robert Erkan (district 41) made it with his 24. Ranked in the top 40, followed by Anja Zeller (district 40) in place 41 and Günther Koch (district 42) in place 46.
“With this result, the chances of a member of the Landtag from the MKK are pretty good! We congratulate the three of them on this success. You have shown tireless commitment in recent weeks and we are sure that this will not diminish until the state election. Together, we will now step up our campaign to promote a greener and fairer Main-Kinzig district," said Emily Benatzky, spokeswoman for the Green MKK.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members who have actively supported us. Together, we have achieved this goal and made our presence in Wetzlar clear. We are very proud and look forward to the upcoming election campaign with you!" said Ahmet Cetiner, spokesperson for the Green MKK, summarising the weekend.
