Members of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Main-Kinzig elect delegates for the party council of the Greens in Hesse
"With Angelika Gunkel and Jakob Mähler, the Greens in Main-Kinzig will once again be represented in the Party Council by two active and committed local politicians," said Viola Haßdenteufel, spokeswoman for the Board and deputy leader of the Greens in Main-Kinzig. On 27 April, the members of the district association met in the Klosterberghalle in Langenselbold to elect, among other things, the delegates for the body of the regional association.
Angelika Gunkel, member of the district committee for the Greens from Hanau, was confirmed in her office as party council delegate. "In the Party Council, we have the opportunity to put issues that particularly concern us in the Main-Kinzig district and are also relevant for other districts on the agenda of the Hessian Greens with applications," says Gunkel. She had submitted a joint motion to the last party council of the Green Parliamentary Group as well as the Greens Main-Kinzig and Hanau in connection with the anniversary of the attack on 19 February 2020. It dealt with the fight against racism, the promotion of democracy and police reform in Hesse.
Jakob Mähler from Gelnhausen was newly elected to the position of party council delegate. The full-time group managing director and deputy group chairman of the Greens in the district council, who also represents the Green Youth Main-Kinzig as spokesman in the district board, replaces Reiner Bousonville as delegate. “I look forward to the new role in the Party Council. I would like to bring the experience and the subject-specific knowledge that I have gathered and collect in the various committees to the Party Council and to represent the Main-Kinzig district and its Green members in the best possible way", says Mähler, who also leads the Green Group in Gelnhausen.
Reiner Bousonville, Sandra Gerbert, Viola Haßdenteufel and Knut Kiesel were chosen as substitute delegates for Gunkel and Mower.
