Green Main-Kinzig celebrate a Green Day and elect their candidates for the state election
"Today we showed that we are prepared for the 2023 state election campaign with a strong team of candidates, substitute candidates and members," said Maria Heider, spokeswoman for the board of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Main-Kinzig. Last Saturday, the district association invited its members to a Green Day with members' festival and election meetings in the Ajoki in the Old St. John's Church in Hanau.
"I will stand for the constituency in the state elections, particularly with regard to social issues, integration and health, but also against racism and discrimination," said Robert Erkan, Green City Councillor and Mediator from Hanau, who will stand for constituency 41, which includes Hanau and Maintal, among others. The Hanau city councillor, Josefine Lamß, was elected as a substitute candidate. Anja Zeller, also from Hanau, will run for constituency 40. “I look forward to an active campaign with the Greens from the cities and municipalities of my constituency. I want to stand up for sustainable mobility, the energy transition and rural development", says Zeller. She is supported in the election campaign by her substitute candidate Matthias Dorka from Brachttal. Günther Koch was selected as the third federal candidate for constituency 42 in the eastern Main-Kinzig district. "As a youth welfare planner, I am primarily campaigning for better development conditions for children, young people and families in cities and municipalities, but also for a transport transition for rural areas," said the spokesperson for the local association of the Greens in Schlüchtern. Beate Boege-Sonnek, honorary city councillor from Bad Orb, was elected as his substitute candidate
"The great participation in the election of the candidates and the mood at this event clearly shows how serious we are about finally putting a Green or a Green from the Main-Kinzig district back in the Landtag and helping the Hessian Greens to an electoral victory and a Green Prime Minister," said Ahmet Cetiner, spokesman for the Board of the Greens Main-Kinzig. The part of the more than 100 members who had remained until the end of the event celebrated the successful election and the campaign start together on the terrace of the Ajoki.
