Amendment to the budget: Increased support for school lunches

The district council shall decide:           

1. The subsidy for school lunches will be increased from 40,000 euros to 80,000 euros.
2. Heinzelmännchen GmbH is asked to use the increased donations to relieve parents and to use organic, regional and fair traded food.

Explanatory memorandum:

The self-image of the Main-Kinzig district as a ‘FairTrade district’ should be to offer organic, regional and fair food in the canteens in the district area.

With an annual grant of only 40,000 euros, this is not possible without additional burden on the parents.

Therefore, an increase of the donations to 80,000 euros is necessary to relieve the parents and to improve the food quality.
