Explanatory memorandum:

The way people move is currently in a state of upheaval. This change in mobility poses new challenges for cities and municipalities as well as for the rural districts.

One of the main tasks of municipal services of general interest is the consideration and implementation of sustainable mobility. For this reason, in addition to two cycling concepts, the Main-Kinzig-Kreis has also launched the concept of mobility, the implementation of which will now become an important task in the coming years.

The mobility officer organises the cross-cutting task in order to mediate between the designated offices, the district and the municipalities. In the further course, the mobility officer ensures further cooperation between the district and the municipalities.

At the same time, in addition to the implementation of the mobility mission statement, it is one of her/his tasks to contribute to the strengthening of zero-emission transport, in particular to the implementation of cycling concepts.

The mobility officer is also the contact person for all tasks of mobility management in the Main-Kinzig district and operates a sustainable network of municipalities in cross-transport mobility issues.
