Amendment: Air filter systems in the schools of the district

The FDP Group's request:

Proposal for a Decision:

In order to minimise the risk of infection with the coronavirus, the district council commissions the district committee to procure mobile air purification devices for all classrooms at short notice and to carry out plans for the retrofitting of schools with air conditioning systems in the medium term. For the procurement of air purification equipment, the district council overscheduled

2 million euros available. The coverage is provided by the liquidity reserve.* A cost contribution from the state and the federal government is demanded from them.

Our amendment:

Proposal for a Decision:

1. The use of mobile air purification devices in classrooms that are not or only poorly ventilated or in which ventilation seems unreasonable for teaching must be massively increased in the short term.

2. For the purchase of mobile air purification devices, the district council provides unscheduled 2 million euros. Coverage is provided from the liquidity reserve.

3. The District Committee shall be mandated to equip all classrooms excluded from (1) with mobile air purifiers in the medium term, provided that the classroom is not connected to a central ventilation system.

4. For any renovation of school buildings and classrooms, ventilation systems must be designed and installed in such a way that all classrooms can gradually be connected to a central ventilation system.

5. For new buildings, the passive house standard must now be applied, which must be provided with a ventilation system that can keep the air virus-free.
