Politics does not always have to take place behind lecterns or in meeting rooms, as demonstrated by last Saturday’s ‘Taxi Talk with Mahwish’ in Hanau. The parliamentary candidate of the Greens for the constituency 179, Mahwish Iftikhar, and the Hessian lead candidate Anna Lührmann relied on an innovative format and invited citizens to a very special ride. The interest was huge!
Get in, talk, help shape!
Instead of classic election campaign events, the Greens opted for a creative and immediate encounter: In a large-capacity taxi, citizens had the unique opportunity to have a direct conversation with Mahwish Iftikhar and Anna Lührmann on a short ride. Over a hot cup of tea or coffee, they could share their concerns, ask questions and discuss ideas for a sustainable policy.
Politics to touch
The action was very well received: The seats were quickly taken, and the conversations were intense, personal, and inspiring. Especially Mahwish Iftikhar, who herself worked as a taxi driver during her studies, scored points with this encounter at eye level. "The most honest and exciting conversations often arise in taxis, which is exactly what we want to translate into politics," Iftikhar said enthusiastically.
Continuation to follow! Omid Nouripour gets in
If you missed the taxi talk, you will soon have a new chance: Next Wednesday, 5.2.25, from 11 a.m. on the Hanauer Freiheitsplatz, the Hessian top candidate of the Greens, Omid Nouripour, gets into the taxi! Once again, citizens have the opportunity to talk to him in a relaxed atmosphere – an opportunity not to be missed!
