Very good results for green direct candidates at the Hessian Party Congress
Two high rankings for the Green direct candidates: Last Saturday, the List Party Congress of the Greens took place in Marburg. Mahwish Iftikhar was ranked 9th and Philip Schinkel 14th: "This is an enormous success for the Greens in the Main-Kinzig district", said the two spokespersons for the Board, Anja Zeller and Thomas Gassen.
Due to the high list number 9, Mahwish Iftikhar, direct candidate for constituency 179, can make good hopes of becoming part of the next Bundestag: "As a fighter for social politics and democracy, I am pleased with the strong vote and trust of the Hessian Greens," says Iftikhar. The member of the district council already has numerous activities at state and federal level: “I would now like to take this experience with me and stand up for the interests of the people of the western Main-Kinzig district.”
As a Nidderauerin, she is well aware of the challenges: ‘I hope for a strong Green result in order to be able to represent our Main-Kinzig district in Berlin as a member of the Bundestag.’ In the coming weeks and months, she would like to enter into a dialogue: “I have already spoken to countless citizens and gained great impressions and new perspectives. I would now like to continue on this path", emphasises Iftikhar.
"I am pleased to be able to represent my constituency throughout Hesse with a strong result," says Philip Schinkel, direct candidate for constituency 174. Bad Orber was voted 14th at the List Party Congress last Saturday. Place chosen: “This high ranking gives me an enormous tailwind for the upcoming winter election campaign.”
With a strong speech and clear goals, Schinkel was able to convince himself: “The result shows that the interests of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis and Wetterau are also being taken into account by Bündnis 90/Die Grünen throughout Hessen. I am pleased to continue to fully represent the interests of my constituency and thus of rural areas in the coming weeks and months. In the past few weeks I have been able to gain interesting impressions. I will continue to do so in discussions with citizens and local decision-makers", concluded Schinkel.
"The strong rankings of Mahwish Iftikhar and Philip Schinkel are not only a recognition of their work to date, but also a clear sign of confidence in their political vision," says Zeller and Gassen: “With them, we have two candidates who will convincingly represent the green values and provide important impetus for the Bundestag elections.”
