At their general assembly on 19 September 2024, BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN nominated the direct candidates for the Bundestag elections 2025 in the district association Main-Kinzig. Philip Schinkel will run in constituency 174 (Main-Kinzig – Wetterau II – Schotten), while Mahwish Iftikhar will run for constituency 179 (Hanau).
Philip Schinkel, who has been a committed representative of green politics in the region for many years, including as a member of the board of the local association in Bad Orb and the district association Main-Kinzig, is grateful for the trust placed in him: “It is a great honour for me to run as a direct candidate for constituency 174. The challenges of our time are huge and I look forward to working with citizens to find solutions to shape a sustainable and just future.”
Mahwish Iftikhar, who is also passionate about promoting green issues, particularly as a spokeswoman for diversity policy for the Green Youth of Hesse and as a member of the district parliament, sees her candidacy as an important opportunity to advocate for the concerns of the people in the region: “I look forward to representing the people of my constituency in the German Bundestag. With determination, courage and confidence, I want to work with them to build a sustainable society."
The election of the direct candidates represents an important milestone on the way to the Bundestag elections in 2025. In the coming months, Philip Schinkel and Mahwish Iftikhar will actively approach the people in the Main-Kinzig district and beyond in order to communicate the goals of Alliance 90/The Greens and to enter into dialogue with citizens.
The district association Main-Kinzig of BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN is looking forward to a committed election campaign and will actively support its candidates.
